August saw a Red and White KR extravaganza take place at The Hut on Preston Road, organised by the Cobus Communications Group in aid of our nominated charity of the year Child Dynamix. The event was held on Sunday 21st August and was twinned with the Hull KR game against St Helens at Craven Park.
Cobus Business Manager Vicky O'Grady adds "We thought it would be a great opportunity for Cobus to raise funds for our charity of the year and what better time to do it than when Hull KR are playing at home, so that we can make the most of the crowds attending the match and educate the local community about the benefits of Child Dynamix and The Hut mixed with a fun day out. She added "Every year Cobus nominates a charity in which to support and we believe in giving young people the best opportunity to be successful no matter what background they're from and we are extremely pleased that this event has proved such a success."
The event, organised in partnership with Child Dynamix and The Cobus Communications Group was supported by local companies: - Jenko Marketing and Design, Kingston Debt Solutions, Hullaballoon, The Deep, Cake That 'N' Party, PD Building Services, Nortech Tools and Equipment, P. Mawer Family Baker, A. Draper & Son Ltd, Far Grange Park & Golf Club, Laser Quest and Hull Kingston Rovers Education and Sports Trust.
Child Dynamix Director Jane Stafford commented "We're a local organisation who have been serving the communities of Hull for over 10 years now. Our aim is to see communities where children and young people thrive and this event brings together a funding opportunity, a fun event and the chance to reach out to young people who may not be aware of the fantastic services we have to offer the community."
The event raised in excess of £1,000 for the Charity, who plan to use a portion of the funds to take disadvantaged young people on an overnight trip to York to visit the York Dungeons, something that they would not normally be able to do. The remainder of the money raised will go towards the purchase of a digibox for the TV within The Hut so that it can be fully utilised by young people.
