At Cobus we believe in giving young people the best opportunity to be successful no matter what background, so this year we are pleased to announce Child Dynamix as our nominated charity in 2011.
Child Dynamix is a vibrant, exciting and growing organisation that provides a reliable and unique range of activities, facilities and services to families with children, young people, schools and business across the City of Hull. From families seeking childcare, support or advice, to young people looking for great things to do, developing skills, and making new friends, Child Dynamix has been serving the communities of Hull for the past 10 years.
In the early days as part of the Hull Regeneration Scheme on the Preston Road Estate and for the past five years as an social enterprise and Charity working across the city and into the East Riding their vision is to see communities where children and young people thrive and are actively engaged in shaping these communities through creating environments and delivering activities which enable children and young people to identify and realise both their aspirations and their potential. The organisation was created from a group of linked Early Years and Play projects within the Hull New Deal for Communities 10 year project known as PRNDC Ltd. It was established in 2005 as a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. The organisation is set up as a hub and spoke model with a Board of trustees and a core team managing central functions and coordinating overall delivery and a wider staff of some 120 working across 28 projects from early years and play through to youth work, family support and training. Operating with a ‘private sector’ philosophy at the interface between ‘socially based services’ and contract based revenues the organisation has grown quickly whilst still retaining the focus on the needs of individuals within the communities we work with, including their employees, many of whom are from the local community.
