After obtaining various other quotes, we chose Cobus for both our telephone system and access control system as they were very knowledgeable, flexible and offered a very competitive price. We were really impressed with the process from start to finish; they engaged with us every step of the way ensuring we were happy and fully understood it all. The work was completed to a high standard and we are confident they will continue to support us on-going and develop the system further.


Relocating to new premises, the company needed to upgrade their telephone system and door access initially. After a full consultation, our sales team liaised with our engineering department to discuss the works required from start to finish.

Firstly they required guidance with the choice of telephone system as their old system was very antiquated and they needed to upgrade so that the organisation could take advantage of the latest features. After careful consideration and demonstrations of a number of technology options they decided on a Panasonic NS700 system because they liked the features available, many of which could be adopted in the future as the company developed. In terms of their telephone lines they decided to stay with traditional ISDN lines, with the option of migrating to SIP trunks at a later date. Gradually moving to a hybrid system will provide cost savings and allow them to future-proof their system.

The whole process with the customer has required our experience, expertise and guidance throughout. We have provided extensive training and support to staff throughout the installation from our engineering and sales team.

Together with the telephony requirements the customer wanted to look into door access options on 5 doors throughout the site including the Director’s offices. They had chosen modern door frames and decided that instead of standard mag locks they wanted to opt for a hidden lock solution so the Operations Manager had to research to find a shear lock that would deliver the aesthetic look the Directors required. The door access was integrated with the telephone system which has Net2 Pro software which has the additional reporting features such as Fire roll call and anti-pass back and in the future they are looking at integrating this into their main gate so that it will be able to link with the telephone system for controlled access onto site.

A little about Airkool

Airkool was established in 1982 as a small local service company and has steadily grown over the past 30 years to become the largest refrigeration, air conditioning and mechanical services company in the region, carrying out installation, service and maintenance contracts throughout the UK.
