Now in its fourth year, The Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards recognises and celebrates business excellence in Goole and the surrounding area and this year saw Cobus win the Customer Service Excellence Award.

The 2014 awards ceremony and gala dinner took place at the prestigious Goole Academy Conference Centre on Friday 28th February with the BBC’s Harry Gration MBE as compere, KCFM’s Matt Hutchinson as DJ and singing Opera style Waiters providing the evening’s entertainment. Every year the event gets bigger and better and this year was no exception with a sell-out dinner with over 300 guests and a record quantity of Award submissions.

As a passionate supporter of the evening Cobus Communications were keen sponsors for the New Business of the year Award to reward the achievements of local new businesses . The Award was presented by Managing Director Michael Smith who congratulated winners Park Lodge Shooting School from Cowick in Goole. A clay pigeon shooting range, Park Lodge offers a scenic setting with expert tuition and visitor centre that has been attracting National tourists and growing in reputation.

Cobus were delighted to, not only play a role as Sponsor to the awards but also in achieving nominations in no less than three Award categories for – Employee Of The Year, Learning and development and the Customer Service Excellence Award. Cobus won the Customer Service Excellence Award after beating off worthy finalists that provided some stiff competition.

Narrowly missing out on first place last year on an award for Customer Service at the National Comms Awards in London, Cobus Managing Director Michael Smith commented “Cobus has pulled together a fantastic team effort over the last year and it is very rewarding to know that all of our hard work on improving our customer service levels to surpass expectations has now been rewarded at a local level as well as our previous National recognition”.

Also coming Runners up in both the Employee of the year category and just missing out on the Learning and development Award we appreciate the recognition this new award will provide for us and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.
