Cobus were pleased to help local mental health organisation Hull & East Yorkshire Mind celebrate their 40th anniversary at their glittering birthday ball, held at the Royal Mercure Hotel in Hull city centre. Founded in 1976 and with over 40 years experience in providing mental health services to people in Hull and East Yorkshire, the organisation is a registered charity and is affiliated to National Mind in London through an affiliation agreement, but receives no income in support of its operations from the National Mind. Although an independent, autonomous organisation, Hull & East Yorkshire Mind is one of over 140 Local Mind Associations that have agreed to support the mission and values of National Mind and strive to reflect them in its governing documents and its work.

Michael Smith, Cobus Managing Director, commented “It was great to be part of the MIND’s 40th anniversary ball and meet some very inspiring people, Cobus invited Paul Spence [founder of PAUL For Brain Recovery and the Cobus Foundation charity for 2016] as our guest who said he had a great evening. Over £3,000 was raised on the night and everyone had a really good night – the theatrical production from the ‘Roaring Girls’ about living and dealing with mental health issues was truly inspirational.”
