Cobus employees Joanne Easby and Gemma Bottomley recently took part in a trip to London with our Charity partners the Hull Children’s University and assisted as mentors with Children from local primary school Francis Askew.

Leaving on the 6.25am train to Kings cross Joanne kept the children entertained by bringing with her a selection of games to play on the journey from Monopoly to Snakes and Ladders, Ludo and Playing Cards. The trip was organised by the Childrens University which offers experiences to children who would otherwise not get to experience the wonders of London and the Tube was a new experience for many who had not even ridden a train!

The trip saw them take in Big Ben, Number 10 and the London Eye 4D Experience together with a river cruise down the Thames. Although it rained and the children wanted to sit upstairs in the open air – everyone got a little wet they got to see many of the sights – The Shard, Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, The Gherkin, HM Belfast, a pirate Ship Museum and much much more!

Joanne commented ” The children were all so well behaved and an absolute pleasure to be with. They were so excited to see the sights – sitting in the House of Commons watching MP’s debate and watching the Queens Guards and everyone of them will remember something of the trip for the rest of their lives.”
