In the final hours of Mission Christmas, Cobus Communications has saved the day with a last minute donation enabling Cash for Kids to purchase over 700 gifts for disadvantaged young adults living in East Yorkshire & Northern Lincolnshire.

Charlotte Pickering, Charity Manager at Cash for Kids says “This year we have experienced a significant shortfall in the number of teenage gifts donated, we were really at a loose end and about to inform our beneficiaries the disappointing news that we couldn’t provide the gifts’

Cobus met with the charity team at Bookers of Hull to purchase the last minute gifts that are now being wrapped by organisations and delivered to young adults across the region.

Sam Drinkall, Sales Manager at Cobus, Commented “I have always been immensely proud of working within a business that gets involved with the local community. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the project that reaches so many underprivileged kids and well done to the Cash for Kids Team – your work is truly inspirational”.

Managing Director, Michael Smith, Said “Cobus are already well known for our charitable giving, something recognised at the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards last month when we were proudly presented with the Community Involvement Award for 2015. Although already surpassing our targeted giving for the year through our Cobus Foundation Charitable arm, we decided to dig-in deep again and help Viking FM with their shortfall for their Cash For Kids charity and are delighted we could provide our help to this worthy and local cause.”

Cash for Kids has received applications for support for over 18,000 disadvantaged and vulnerable children this Christmas, from organisations including women’s refuges, children’s centres, charities and social services.
