The event was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the charity’s journey and achievements. Founder Paul Spence took attendees on an inspiring trip down memory lane, sharing the story of how P.A.U.L began and the difference it has made over the past decade. It was a truly nostalgic moment, with a showcase of images and memories on the big screen, bringing together familiar faces and highlighting the growth of the organisation.

Guests were also treated to insightful and motivational speeches from key figures involved in the charity’s work. Dr Abayomi Salawu, who played an instrumental role in Paul’s early recovery, shared his perspective, alongside Christy Francis, who continues to contribute significantly through the partnership with City Health Care Partnership CIC (Hull).
A standout moment of the afternoon was a large group photo taken outside the centre, so well attended that fitting everyone into the frame proved to be a challenge, a testament to the strong community surrounding P.A.U.
The celebrations also included the filming of reflections with Dr Salawu, Selen Osman, Christy Francis, and Dr Kelly Dockerty from the University of Hull. These recordings will form part of a special anniversary film set to premiere at the upcoming Charity Ball later this year.
To round off the occasion, attendees enjoyed fantastic food courtesy of Herby’s, providing the perfect setting to connect, reflect, and celebrate together.
Cobus is incredibly proud to have supported P.A.U.L for Brain Recovery in the early days and beyond and congratulates the team on reaching this important milestone.
Here’s to continued success and impact in the years ahead.
